The report "PFAS and Alternatives in Food Packaging (Paper and Paperboard): Hazard Profile" aims to complement the previous report on PFAS alternatives in these food packaging by compiling information on the hazard profile of previously identified alternatives.
Description:
In 2020, the OECD published the report "PFASs and alternatives in Food Packaging (Paper and Paperboard) Report on the Commercial Availability and Current Uses". This report addressed the commercial availability and uses of alternatives (chemical and non-chemical) to PFAS substances in food packaging (paper and paperboard).
Noting that knowledge of the hazards of alternatives to PFAS in food packaging may be lacking, the OECD reviewed the human and environmental hazard classifications and assessments of the 58 substances in the previous report.
