Résumé:
In connection with the entry into force of a Californian regulation targeting PFAS used in textile and leather treatments, the DTSC (Department of Toxic Substances Control) has published a list of alternatives to these substances.
Description:

Manufacturers of PFAS-based textile and leather treatments available on the California market must file a preliminary alternatives analysis or notify the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) of their intention to remove their products from this market by 28 September 2022.

That’s why the DTSC has published a non-exhaustive list of potential PFAS substitutes for these applications. It includes silicones (or siloxanes), silicon dioxide nanoparticles, polyurethanes, acrylates, paraffin waxes or hydrocarbons...

Substitute chemicals and products listed have not been vetted for safety or performance and listing them does not constitute an endorsement by DTSC.
