5 phthalates will soon be restricted for use in textile articles

As from 1 November 2020, bis(2-methoxyethyl) phthalate, DiPP, DPP, DnHP and 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid di-C6-8-branched alkylesters, C7-rich may not be present in textiles, clothing, related accessories and footwear at concentrations higher than 1000 mg/kg (individually or in combination with other phthalates listed in Annex XVII of REACH).

France has initiated steps to classify bisphenol B as an endocrine disruptor

Based on the results of its recent study on bisphenol B, ANSES has carried out a project of Risk Management Options Analysis (RMOA) in order to classify this substance as an endocrine disruptor under the REACH Regulation.

A new restriction on the use of phthalates enters into force

Back to the workshop dedicated to the substitution of bisphenol A in thermal papers

ECHA and the Belgian authorities jointly organized a workshop last March on the substitution of bisphenol A in thermal papers. This workshop brought together various stakeholders of the supply chain and enable the presentation of alternatives to BPA in thermal paper, available or emerging.

Two reports on the substitution of chemicals published by the OECD

The OECD has published an analysis on approaches to support substitution and the evaluation of alternatives and a synthesis report of the workshop on these topics organized in May 2018.
